This is becoming a little familiar as last time we met, FLIPPER&CO were logging a “First To Find” at a cache and we rolled up to claim second.

It looks like we’ll have to get up bright and early to beat FLIPPER&CO to claim “First To Finds” in future. This “First To Find” had a little irony in it as FLIPPER&CO live a lot closer than us to this cache.

Thanks for bringing this location to our attention. We hope to be around in 2028 when the time capsule is opened!

Unfortunately the problems we had with our old 4WD geocache mobile meant that it has taken us longer to attempt this cache than we had anticipated.Our first obstacle was to avoid seeing any “white pointers” from the adjacent nudist colony.

Our second and more obvious problem was physically locating the cache.

January 12, 2008: We were that close that we could smell the cache, however, as we attempted to scale the tree a portion of the trunk broke off and we decided that it wasn’t worth risking life and limb and we retreated back to the shore line.

We were that close - but not close enough to log it as a find. We will need to enlist the assistance of a geokid to complete this cache.

January 26, 2008: With the assistance of a friendly geokid, we revisited the cache location and guided the geokid in the general direction of the cache. Having extracted the cache, we quickly logged our find and returned the cache to its hidey position.

Finally, the placement of this cache gave me reason to enter.

The driving track is very easy and suitable for 2WD (with caution) and for 4WD.
